I enjoyed meeting you at the open session for DL instructors at TP/SS in April. You shared an interesting observation that online instructors tend to "focus" their delivery of information. I've reflected on the strength of that attribute and believe that it does keep students very directed.
Now, you've got me intrigued to find out more about the effectiveness of blogs. I'll be checking in for that answer.
Thanks Sharon. I think blogging is a great way to keep students in a program informed of what is happening. There is a sense of engagement that doesn't have to end when a class finishes.
